A snapshot view of a product assembly or breakdown at a significant point in time.
The product baseline is an output of the ‘products physical configuration audit’ [PCA] i.e. this product is to an agreed standard that meets the originating contractual specification. [This freezes the Product Definition Information [PDI] and any further changes are through the Customers Configuration Change Management process].
Changes in service result in a further product baseline being established, this provides a ‘snapshot’ view.
